Christ shaped light

But if we walk in the light as He is the light we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

1 John 1:7

The word of God commands us to walk in the light. We live in a dark sinful world and so we can choose either of two lifestyles – one characterized by wickedness and the other by holiness and truth. There is no compromise. The word walk in this verse is a metaphor for living. When we are in Christ we have fellowship with Him – that means to be in living spiritual union with God! Jesus’ blood has cleansed us from all sin – past present and future. This does not mean that we take advantage of God’s grace and sin on purpose. A true believer will always choose light over darkness knowing that Jesus, the light of the world, conquered darkness i.e. sin on the cross of Calvary. He has called us to be his light. Let us be like Him bringing joy and love and peace to all around.

God is with us

Matthew 8:23-27

God has not only promised to be with us always till the very end but it is a fact that He is always there with us whether or not we know it or believe it.
There may be storms we are facing in our lives but with Jesus on our side we have nothing to fear. The peace that God gives us is indescribable – no human being can understand it. God helps us to realise that our mortal lives here on earth are short but our soul will live forever in heaven. Each and every detail of our life is known by God, our Creator, Sustainer and Life-giver. Let us praise and worship this wonderful God.

Are you growing where you are planted?

This beautiful rose in my mommy’s garden at home reminds me of my roots. No matter where you are now, you can never forget where it all began. How the good Lord has kept you and helped you till today. Just like the Psalmist says, as long as we’re in a close relationship with our Creator we will flourish, and that surely doesn’t mean just thriving. It’s blooming and blossoming! 🌹 💞Have a beautiful day 😇

Devotion

Jeremiah 2:2

“I remember the devotion of your youth”….

The word devotion mention in this verse, in Hebrew, refers to the most intimate degree of loyalty, love and faithfulness that can exist between two people or between an individual and the Lord.

If we reflect on our own lives, of the time we first heard the gospel and accepted the Lord Jesus as our personal Saviour and now. We need ask ourselves “do we still have the same loyalty love and faithfulness we had then”? Or like the people of Israel have we wandered away from God?

God compared Israel to a bride. Early in her history Israel had enjoyed a close and cordial relationship with the Lord who is often figuratively described as Israel’s husband. But later God’s people forsook him and loved “foreign gods” tragically abandoning their first love. They followed “worthless idols”.

Israel was holy to the Lord. They were set apart for the Lord and for His service. So also God has set us apart for His glory. Just as the “best of the first fruits” of Israel’s crops were to be brought to the Lord so also the people themselves were his first and choicest treasure.

What a privilege to know that God in his grace has chosen as to be His children even though we are Gentiles and undeserving of his love and mercy.

Thanks be to our Lord Jesus Christ who paid the debt of all our sins on the cross and redeemed us with his precious blood.

What will you choose?

Genesis 13:1-18

Will you choose like Lot who looked up and saw the well watered plains of the Jordan? Or will you wait on the Lord with your head bowed down until you hear Him say “lift up your eyes” like He did to his friend Abraham?

Would you choose for yourself like Lot or would you let God choose for you like Abraham?
Would you pitch your tent near Sodom, so near that you eventually end up there or would you live where God wants you to, away from the world and its snares?
Would you look selfishly like Lot and covet or would you look as God commanded and be blessed?
Would you choose what is right in God’s sight or choose what pleases your heart?
Would you choose eternity with Him or eternity apart from Him?
