Pray for humility

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
James 4:10 NIV

We don’t know ourselves as God knows us and even others know us. We often tell ourselves that we don’t sin like others. That we are basically good. Sometimes our repentance is full of pride. We deny God so many times. Our hearts are deceitful.

We may deceive others but we can’t deceive God who searches our heart. (Rom 8:27) God knows what wrongs we will do in future. We may fall away but He will not. He has accepted us as we are. Wicked, guilty, defiled, sinful and fraile. He comforts us and has completely forgiven us.

The greatest saint can fall into the greatest sin if he is not held up by God’s grace. Praying for humility has to be constant in our lives.
